Students: Welcome To Waterford

by regina 28. September 2011 10:48

The first week of September is not only the busiest periods in a student’s life but it’s also the busiest periods here at Bookaroom. Whether you’re starting off as a first year or in your final year of studies there is a great selection of Student Accommodation to choose from.

So I felt it was appropriate that this week’s blog should have a student theme.

Here are a few tips on how to find the right property.

Accommodation Tips

  1. When you start college make sure that you spend a good bit of the day trying to find a reliable letting agency. Now what I mean by reliable would be to see if you can get the right property at a reasonable price.
  2. When you are going to view an apartment make sure that you take note on the quality of the apartment.
  3. Make sure that you organise your own Bed Linen and towels as they do not come with the apartment
  4. Make sure that everything works in the apartment.
    1. For instance, check all the lights to see if they all work.
    2. Check all the kitchen appliances to see if they work.
    3. Check if the kitchen has cutlery, crockery etc
    4. And finally make sure that the bed is comfortable to sleep in because there is nothing worse than waking up with a sore neck and a cricked back. That’s just painful.
  5. The day that you move into your apartment you will receive a check in document. If there was something damaged like a small hole in the wall or a kitchen appliance that was already broken when you moved in this check in document is a way of recording defects which were in the property before you took up occupancy.
  6. Make sure that lifts in the apartment blocks work because it’s not a nice thing walking up all the flights of stairs if the lifts don’t work but on the plus side you get loads of exercise.
  7. The apartments that we rent over in Aylesbury Manor and Railway Square are very secure. There are CCTV cameras on display 24 Hours a Day, only residents can enter the apartment blocks with a swipe card or a Multi-Lock Key.
  8. And last but by no means least when your lease has come to an end make sure that you get your deposit back, by having your rent paid, ensuring the property is fully clean and that you remedy any accidental damage which may have happened during your stay

So I hope now that these tips have been very helpful and on behalf of the staff here at Bookaroom we would like to wish all the students the very best with your studies and hope to hear from you all again next year. We still have a few rooms available in high quality apartments so feel free to send your friends into us or call us on 051 858182.

Enjoy Your Stay
